Well, it’s official. All my girls are back at school as of last week. My youngest is now in kindergarten and my oldest is officially a teenager!
If your household is anything like mine your juggling busy schedules. Maybe just yours and maybe multiple schedules. Either way with Autumn around the corner, this is the season of colds, flus, and the like.
According to the CDC, 22 million school days are lost to colds every year in the US. Here are a few things you can do to protect your health and your family’s.
1) Eat Well
It’s important to get the appropriate amounts of protein as well as anti-oxidants and minerals. That means lots of fruits and veggies and limit the stuff like grains and juice boxes.
2) Sleep Well
It’s a no-brainer. Most of us know we’re supposed to sleep 7.5-8 hours/night but many of us still don’t. Here’s your reminder. If you sleep the same time every night, and enough time, you’ll feel so much better, get sick less often, perform better. JUST DO IT!
3) Get Adjusted!
When’s the last time everyone in your family was adjusted? It’s a health reset. We all have stress, even the kids, so we all can use a tune-up on our nervous systems. Nervous system controls immune function. Everyone should be adjusted AT LEAST once a month.
4) Supplement Right
No one wants to take a boat load of pills but taking the right nutritional supplements can go a long way. Here are a few of my favorites for the kids.
Helps fight SAD, auto-immune dysfuntion, and a whole lot more. Plus it’s one of the least expensive things you can do for your health.
You can’t over do it. It’s so important for developing brains (Brains aren’t done growing until you’re over 20) and these omega-3’s are great at busting up inflammation and helping the immune system to do it’s job.
Healthy Gut bacteria can go a long way in helping the immune system. Just make sure there are at least 15 billion live organisms per serving or it’s not doing the job.
If you do feel something coming on, there are a few things you can do to avert the sniffles, sore throat, and headache you’d rather not feel. ImmunoCore is one of them. Packed with the healing power of several different mushrooms, ImmunoCore will give your immune system the kick-in-the-butt, you’re immune system needs.
5) Have Fun!
Acts of kindness and general frivolity are a couple of my favorite ways to keep you performing at your best and keep the immune system happy.
Yours in health,
Dr Chris Frykman
